Enabling our Bali Talent

From one-way donations to livelihoods

A lasting programme, tied back to Bali Nyonga, that helps skills, language and craft from home reach the market through us. The 2027 convention is its launch.

The idea

Dignity, not dependence

For years, money has flowed one way: from the diaspora to home. Enabling our Bali Talent turns that around. Our cousins still farm, sew, build and carve in Bali Nyonga. When their skills reach the market, money is made in Bali, not only sent to it.

2027 launches a programme that outlives the weekend, and it is Bali's own talent that it enables.

How it works

How a subscription becomes a livelihood at home

  1. Step 1

Every diasporan belongs to a compound

Your cousins still farm, sew, build and carve in Bali Nyonga.

  2. Step 2

You sponsor a relative's profile on LelaHub

£5 a month covers their listing, photos and onboarding.

  3. Step 3

    Their skills reach the market

Tailoring, carpentry, produce and craft sell to Bamenda, Douala, Yaoundé and the diaspora.

  4. Step 4

    Income is earned at home

Money made in Bali, not remitted to it. Dignity, not dependence.

The monthly amount is from our strategy and may change before launch.

We are not inventing, we are connecting

It has been done before

  • Prescraft

    Bali Nyonga

Prescraft in Bali has organised hundreds of artisans for fair-trade export for decades.

  • ANKA

    Formerly Afrikrea

ANKA built a pan-African artisan marketplace strong enough to partner with DHL and Visa.

Launching at the convention

It starts in July 2027

Enabling our Bali Talent is launched at the convention, as one of the weekend's three objectives. The Friday bazaar has a cultural slant, with Bali craft, food and fashion, and Bali craft is auctioned in daylight. We will share the details of the launch with the programme.
