On 11 October 2026, BCDA-UK presented its vision for the 2027 BCA Europe Convention to the BCA Europe leadership. The plan brings the Bali Nyonga family in Europe together for one weekend, under one roof.

The plan in a minute

  • One estate. 29 July to 1 August 2027 at De Vere Wokefield Estate near Reading: 376 bedrooms and 250 acres, every event on one site, 40 minutes from Heathrow.
  • One pass. A single Bali Pass covers the whole weekend and can be paid in instalments.
  • Culture at the centre. Culture sits at the centre of every day. Fundraising moves out of the party and into the year.
  • A digital home. LelaHub, our digital home, is planned to open on 1 December and to outlive the weekend.
  • Europe owns it. The UK hosts. The BCA Europe leadership sits as the steering group, and every chapter leads a workstream.

Why one estate

At past conventions, guests were spread across several hotels and venues. That meant taxis, late starts and missed moments. At Wokefield, the Meet and Greet, the Official Opening, the General Assembly, the dance competition, the Gala and the Sunday barbecue all happen on one site, and people walk between events.

The affordability promise

The money a member spends on 2027 should be in line with any recent BCA Europe convention, allowing only for inflation. The worked examples presented include every meal: about £290 a person for a family of four, about £440 for a single adult sharing a room, about £315 for Young Bali, and about £200 for the Gala only. These figures are illustrative until the venue quotes are in.

Five decisions asked of leadership

  1. Adopt the 2027 vision, the three objectives and the affordability promise.
  2. Appoint the co-chairs of the Convention Preparation Committee and the steering group with the BCA Europe leadership, and name a workstream lead from every chapter.
  3. Mandate the venue team to confirm De Vere Wokefield Estate for 29 July to 1 August 2027: site visit now, contract by December 2026.
  4. Approve the Bali Pass and the front-loaded funding plan: pass sales in instalments, the digital magazine, patrons and sponsors, with sales opening on the app by December 2026. The cause is funded separately, across the year and in daylight.
  5. Greenlight LelaHub for 1 December and the launch of Enabling our Bali Talent at the convention.
